Huset is getting renovated

For more than a decade, Huset has been home to Bastard Café.

This August Denmarks oldest culture house will temporarily close for a major renovation project. Instead of putting everything on hold, they’re taking their cultural activities out into the city, using the opportunity to experiment with new spaces, new formats, and new ideas.

At Bastard Café, we’ve been building on that same idea for a while now.

We’ve opened Bastard Café Nørrebro and Bastard Café Valby to bring the Bastard spirit into new parts of the city and welcome even more people into the community.

We’re trying new things we’ve never done before. New events like Craft Markets, Social Saturdays, Unmatched Tournaments, and Miniature Painting. There are new partnerships, more presence at events “out of the house” (come see us at Copenhell and Roskilde!) and new items on the menu, all to give more to the Bastard Café community, and to support our mission to get more people playing board games.

We’ll miss having our original home in Huset over the next few years, but we’re excited to see what both Huset and Bastard Café can discover while we’re out exploring.

So go check out what Huset gets up to around the city, and if you’re looking for board games, good company, and a place to hang out, come see us in Nørrebro or Valby.

We’ll all be back home when the doors reopen in 2028.
