Description

The goal of the game is to pull the other players’ Heartstrings. You do this by completing poems and passions, and collecting their heart tokens, until you are the only player left with tokens.

The main feature of the game is making poetry with ‘Rhyme Cards’. Simply put you have cards on hand with a phonetic symbol on it. This symbol represents the sounding of the last syllable of a phrase in a poem. When putting down a poetry card on your turn, you compose a poem with an ending like the symbol on the card. (See more in Cards – ‘Rhyme Card’).

Four cards of the table equals two rhymes of a poem, and a verse. Each ‘Rhyme Card’ has four colored hearts, corresponding with each player’s Lover Card (See more in Cards – ‘Lover Card’). The goal of the poetry is to have as many hearts corresponding with your opponents colors and as few of yours on the table when a verse is completed. When a verse is completed, you tally up the colored hearts and discard that amount of tokens.

The secondary feature of the game is talking about your Passions with ‘Passion Cards’. These are missions that you can carry out during the conversation ensuing while playing. Completing such a mission grants you a number of tokens.

The key to winning is:
– Pay attention and try to discover what Lover Card the other player’s have.
– Limit the amount of cards on the table with your Lover Card on it.
– Complete Passions to recover lost tokens.
